Artists and Furniture Makers Represented
Tara’s Palace has an unrivaled collection of miniature furniture of the highest quality by some of the world’s leading makers:
Tom Ryan RHA – One of Ireland’s leading artists has created works that adorn the principal rooms of Tara’s Palace
Fred Early – Master cabinet maker with James Hicks, Lr. Pembroke Street, Dublin 2 made the furniture for Titania’s Palace and also made pieces for Queen Mary’s Doll’s House. The Trust were fortunate with the assistance of Dublin Tourism to be able to acquire a number of pieces illustrated here, which furnish the “Ladies withdrawing room” in the front section of the Palace.
John Hodgson – one of the world’s finest miniaturists and maker of the Leeds Castle Dolls Palace in England, was commissioned by the Trustees to make the unique set of Irish 18th century dining room chairs to match the set originally in the Great Hall of Malahide Castle.
Michael Walton – a young Irish maker of international stature whose first commissions were for Tara’s Palace. His interpretation of the work of “Moore” the Dublin master cabinet maker of the late 18th century is outstanding as demonstrated in his handling of the pair of demi lune commodes in the “Ladies Withdrawing Room” side tables and the magnificent dinning table. 
Paul Geoghegan – senior cabinet maker with R Mc Donnell Antiques Dublin worked on the structure of Tara’s Palace along with Thomas Clancy.
Christy Glynn, wood carver Dublin, who carved the mirrors in the manner of John & Francis Booker of Dublin and the 18th century side tables.
Philip O Neill who created the magnificent marble and brass cantilever staircase in the “Entrance Hall” of the Palace which is modelled on Castletown House, Co. Kildare.
